We are asking parents/family members to lead the ponies for beginner riders. A brief induction is carried out at the time. Please remember to wear sensible footwear (no flip flops or sandals)
We offer riding lessons in our floodlit all-weather 40m x 20m arenas. In the summer we may ride in our fields and use a variety of cross country jumps. Hacking is on quiet country lanes and bridlepaths, however there is no off-road riding immediately local to us. We are unable to hack with beginners or riders who are unable to control a horse in traffic. Our lessons are for leisure riders rather than competition riders.

ADULTS usually ride in private lessons (half hour or three-quarters hour) but we are able to accommodate small groups. We frequently run the popular 'Take Back the Reins' courses offering a riding lesson and the chance to groom and tack up your horse. During the course we usually include a hack and a session on how to lunge. These courses are aimed at new and lapsed riders who wish to get back into riding, with the emphasis on friendly informal sessions. There is, however, a weight limit of 12 stone (76 kg) for all riders.
CHILDREN usually ride in group lessons although some private lessons are available. There is no minimum age so young children can start when they are keen to. Our tiny tot/lead rein lesson is 20mins. (Sometimes we ask parents to lead the pony if we are short of leaders and it is now a requirement of our insurance that riders under 4 years also have a side walker to support and steady the child). Beginner riders group lead rein lesson and for those just off the leading rein is 20 mins. Standard group lessons are 45mins and private lessons are 30mins or 45mins.

We do vouchers for any of our lessons and activities.
Vouchers can be sent by post or email, or be collected in person for you to gift on any occasion.
Please contact us with your requirements
A Rider Registration form needs to be completed for each rider (adult or child). This form should be completed in full for each rider (even if the address is the same for multiple riders) and brought with you to your first lesson. If you or your child has any disability or medical condition, and this includes autism, dyspraxia, learning difficulties etc, then it should be disclosed on the form. If you are unable to download and print the forms for completion before you come, please allow enough time to complete the forms here before your lesson.
If a child rider needs leading by a family member we will also require a Leader Volunteer Registration form to be completed for the parent leading their child, and this form should also be brought with you to the first lesson.
To book a lesson, please complete the contact form, send an email or a message through our Facebook page, or phone. We will be happy to discuss further details, availability and booking procedures with you. There is no online booking facility attached to this website.
